Jessamine County, named from the Jasmine flower was formed on December 19th, 1798.

Jessamine County has a rich history filled with many historic landmarks. The Historic High Bridge, the Valley View Ferry, the Jim Beam Nature Preserve, and Camp Nelson Heritage Park all are housed in Jessamine County.
